Illusonal Foils | Iris van Daalen | June 2010

Looking trough the foil, you discover a world of microscopic nature.

Cells, crystals, veins, chromosones, etcetera; beautiful in their own scale.

Hooked by these natural hidden beauties, Iris creates a new desination.

In combination with light and reflection the foils create a new synergy between in and outside space.

Throughout the day this creates an environment wich changes every minute.

-

Mirror foil is normally used as light protection.

Iris transformed this window foil into an aesthetic material.

With this she made a series of repeting patterns for public spaces,

clubs, wellness-centres and others. These foils can be used inside

or outside like a growing skin on a building.

-

Iris made the dessins in proportion 1 to 2 for example 150x75cm.

To illustrate the effect of light throughout the day,

she made these pictures and a short movie.
